Every Desert West physician, in each of our four conveniently located offices, is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. We strive to provide the highest quality, compassionate care to each of our patients. The physicians of Desert West have been caring for women in the Northwest Valley since 1973.

Alka Bennion, MD, FACOG
Dr. Bennion received both her B.S. degree in Human Biology and a Medical Doctorate degree from Creighton University. She completed a residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Akron General Medical Center in Ohio and has been board certified since 2008. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology and joined Desert West in 2008. Her husband and two young children are active hikers who enjoy spending time with family and friends.

John E. DeSalvo, MD, FACOG
Dr. DeSalvo received both his B.S. and Medical Doctorate degree from the University of Illinois then completed an internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Lutheran General Hospital, University of Chicago Affiliate. A fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. DeSalvo joined Desert West in 1999. He became certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology in 1995. He and his wife Beth enjoy golfing and hiking with their two children.

Dr. Doan has practiced in Phoenix since 2004. She graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed her residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Kelly A. Goad, DO, FACOG
Dr. Goad earned a B.S. degree in Biology from Benedictine University (Illinois) and a Doctorate degree from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale. She completed a residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center. Dr. Goad joined Desert West in 2009 and is board certified. She enjoys training for marathons, reading, movies and spending quality time with her husband and son.

Anthony Indovina, DO FACOG
Dr. Indovina is now serving Desert West patients as our hospital-based physician. He earned a Master’s degree in Biology from the University of Illinois-Urbana and a Doctorate degree with Honors from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Ill. He completed a residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Michigan State University, Blodgett Memorial Medical Center in Grand Rapids. Dr. Indovina is board certified and joined Desert West in 2011. He enjoys golf, weight training, reading and spending time with his wife.

Lisa M. Jaacks, MD, FACOG
Dr. Jaacks received both an undergraduate degree and a medical doctorate degree from the University of Creighton in Nebraska. Following a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Florida at Pensacola, she joined Desert West in 2006. She specializes in surgeries to correct urinary incontinence and pelvic prolapse. She is especially interested in robotic surgeries when appropriate. Dr. Jaacks is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Together with her husband Jim and young children, she enjoys traveling and watching the Phoenix Suns.

Lee D. Koon, MD, FACOG
Dr. Koon obtained a B.S. in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University and a Medical Doctorate degree from the University of Tennessee. He then completed an internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Tulane University Medical Center. He is certified in robotic and laparoscopic surgery, and he has special training in surgical treatment of pelvic floor prolapse, the evaluation of urinary incontinence and its surgical management. A fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. Koon has been board certified since 2003. He joined Desert West in 2004. He enjoys traveling and sports.

Christine Oehler, MD, FACOG
Dr. Oehler obtained a B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame and a Medical Doctorate degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine. After completing a residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Maricopa County Medical Center in Phoenix, she joined Desert West in 2000. A fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. Oehler became board certified in 2002 and is certified in robotic laparoscopy. She enjoys exercise, football and gardening as well as traveling with her husband Jonathan and his two tweens.

Robert W. Phillips, MD, FACOG
Dr. Phillips obtained a B.A. degree in chemistry and a medical doctorate degree from the University of New Mexico. Following an internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Maricopa County Medical Center in Phoenix, he became board certified in 1989. He is certified by the Accreditation Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy, is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology and is certified in robotic laparoscopy. Dr. Phillips has been a speaker and presenter at the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy on Endometrial Ablation and Hysteroscopic Sterilization. He has also spoken on the topic of laparoscopic techniques in gynecology. Dr. Phillips has been with Desert West since 1987. He and his wife have three adult sons and he enjoys music, reading mysteries and sports. Dr. and Mrs. Phillips are supporters and volunteers for the Deer Valley School District and Mountain Ridge High School Band.

Judy Tom, MD, FACOG
Dr. Tom enjoys caring for teenagers and their individual needs. She received both her B.S. degree in Chemistry and her Medical Doctorate degree from the University of Oregon. She completed a residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix and has been board certified since 1991. A fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. Tom joined Desert West in 1996. She enjoys spending time with her daughter and son, loves watching Oregon college football and Phoenix Suns basketball and participates in a variety of sports.

Lisa Wynn, MD, MBA, FACOG
Dr. Wynn went to the University of Pennsylvania to earn her medical degree from the School of Medicine and her masters in business administration from the Wharton School. She completed her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of California at Irvine and her internship at the University of California at Los Angeles Medical Center. Dr. Wynn joined Desert West in 2010 and is certified in robotic laparoscopy.

Qi Zhang, MD, FACOG
Dr. Zhang obtained her undergraduate degree from Arizona State University and her medical doctorate degree from the University of Arizona. After completing a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas in 2007, she returned to Arizona and joined Desert West. Dr. Zhang is board certified and speaks fluent English and Mandarin.

Ole Borch-Christensen, MD, FACOG
Dr. Borch-Christensen obtained his undergraduate degree and a medical doctorate degree from the University of Copenhagen. Following an internship in internal medicine and cardiology at Sundby Hospital in Copenhagen, he completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Maricopa County Medical Center in Phoenix. A fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. Borch-Christensen is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. He enjoys golf, tennis and traveling, often visiting his family in Denmark. He and his wife Marianne, who is a pediatrician, have two grown sons.

Andrea "Andi" has been in nursing for more than 20 years, working as both an ICU and Labor and Delivery nurse. She received her Nurse Practitioner certificate from the University of Phoenix in 1995 and joined the Desert West staff in 1996. A mother of one son and grandmother of two, she enjoys camping, hunting, drawing, painting and spending time with her family.

Cecelia "CeCe" began her nursing career in 1985 in Wyoming prior to moving to Phoenix in 1986. She joined the nursing staff at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in the postpartum service. CeCe worked at various hospitals while obtaining her master's degree in maternal-child nursing/nurse practitioner at Arizona State University. She has been with Desert West since 1999. She and her husband have two sons. CeCe is a den leader in cub scouting and likes to camp, read and cook.

Cynthia Holsen, RN, WHNP, MSN
Cynthia "Cindy" attended Arizona State University where she received her nursing degree in 1992. She later became certified as a nurse practitioner in 1997 from the University of Phoenix. Cindy has many years of hospital experience in labor and delivery as well as experience as a women's health nurse practitioner. An instructor, Cindy teaches nurse practitioner students at the University of Phoenix. She joined the Desert West staff in 2008. Cindy likes to run, exercise and spend time with her family and friends.

Patrick H. Kennedy, MD
Dr. Kennedy received his undergraduate degree from St. Vincent University (New Jersey) and his medical doctorate degree from the University of Guadalajara. Following his internship at St. Barnabus Medical Center and residency at Monmouth Medical Center, he worked in private practice for more than 20 years before joining Desert West in 2008. He and his family enjoy golf, sailing, scuba diving and staying active.

Georgeann Polansky, MD, FACOG
Dr. Polansky specializes in treating menopause and is a Certified Menopause Practitioner through the North American Menopause Society. She received a B.A. degree and a doctor of medicine degree from the University of Iowa. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at University of Iowa Hospital before moving to the Valley and joining Desert West in 1987. Board certified since 1987 and recertified in 1996, Dr. Polansky is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She enjoys hiking and beadwork.

Nina W. Wilkey, MD, FACOG
Dr. Wilkey obtained an undergraduate degree at Cornell University and a doctor of medicine degree from the University of Arizona. She completed both her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Maricopa Counter Medical Center before joining Desert West in 1985. A board certified gynecologist, Dr. Wilkey is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology and is certified in robotic laparoscopy. When not spending time with her blended family of seven children, she enjoys playing piano and waterskiing with her husband Marty.

Robert G. Hasse, MD & Robert E. Lange, MD
Dr. Hasse received his doctor of medicine degree from Autonomous University of Guadalajara, M.D. He founded Desert West in 1973 and held a number of leadership roles as a member of the Banner Thunderbird medical staff. Dr. Lange was a graduate of the Louisiana Sate University Medical School and joined Dr. Hasse as one of the founding physicians in 1973. Both are board certified and fellows of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Drs. Hasse and Lange are now retired from the practice.
